Surviving your first year of marriage
Surviving your first year of marriage can be a very difficult process. The ability to communicate your wants and needs to your partner will be the defining factor. The divorce statistics in this country have skyrocketed with over 50% of all marriages ending in divorce.I think that many couples have an idealistic view of what marriage really is. Once reality sets in, many problems begin to arise and I can really see why so many young couples divorce so quickly. They are unwilling to work through their problems and compromise. I also think that compatibility is a major problem. For some reason after the wedding most of these couples just can not seem to get along. I honestly believe that more marital counseling should be administered before the couples are allowed to get married.
